Butterfly/Infant:
he butterflies had so much fun learning about under the sea, pond life, birds and fun summer activities. The infants enjoyed making finger painting art. The spring festivities were infused into the arts curriculum and handprints were featured this month. The babies enjoyed creating personalized cards for mother’s day. They also celebrated spring by learning songs, stories and colors. The infants participated in floor time learning and having tummy time. We also rode the bye bye buggy on nice days. We anticipate all the fun activities to come in June.

As you know, April showers has brought about many May flowers. We have learned so much about flowers and our numbers 1-10, shapes, colors, and ABC’s. WE look forward to having a prosperous summer full of fun and adventure. Special thanks to all the parents that showed much appreciation to me during Teacher Appreciation Week.

Congratulations VPK class of 2023!!!! We had such an awesome month in May. We enjoyed Cinco de Mayo with tacos and churros and played instruments like bongos, wearing colorful clothing and in dance. Parks’ Place saluted our Mothers for Mother’s Day with red roses and children made cards for them. Mrs. Butler and Mrs. Mincey would like to give our Parents and students a big shout-out for showering us with gifts during Teacher Appreciation Week.

During the month of May in the ones class, we covered the themes of the month which included ‘Step into Spring’ and ‘Water Water Everywhere’. We went over our ABC’s and reviewed colors, shapes, and numbers. We also read lots of books like ‘A Day at the Zoo’ and ‘Fox in the Box’ to help the children recognize different animals. On he last Friday of the month, we had our Field Day where we played a lot of games and ate a lot of food.

We had a great time in the 3’s class last month. We celebrated Mother’s day with a Tea for moms. Then we jumped into under the sea life and learned about jellyfish, octopus, and a host of other animals who make their home under the water. We made lots of cool things like rainbow fish. We really enjoyed making hats for Cinco de Mayo. We had Teacher Appreciation Week and children enjoyed making hats for them as well. Their favorite theme of the month was Water, Water Everywhere.

I would like to say Thank You for everything you do. Cinco de Mayo was a great time because we had Tacos and Churros! Field Day was an awesome fun day and it was great to enjoy our last event of the school year. We look forward for what the summer has to offer us.

Executive Director's Corner
As we close out this school year and prepare for graduation I would like to thank all of our VPK students and parents for making this a great and successful school year. We have greatly appreciated all of the volunteer help and involvement in school activities. We really could not do what we do without the support of giving parents such as yourselves.
As mentioned in May’s newsletter, you’ve participated in many fundraisers this year the proceeds of which go right back into the center. It is because of your support during these fundraisers that we are able to make Parks’ Place stand out among area childcare facilities and for that we wish to sincerely THANK YOU again!
The beginning of June will be full of preparation for graduation. Our graduation ceremony this year will be held on June 4th at Parks’ Place. I look forward to celebrating our children that night.
Planning and preparation for our Athletic & Academic Summer Camp “Road Trip Across America” is well underway. Spaces are limited so please register your child for camp in the front office as soon as possible.
Lastly, to those VPK students not returning for Summer Camp we wish you a happy, and safe Summer full of memory making adventures. Don’t forget to visit us next year, we can’t wait to hear all about your amazing time in Kindergarten! We look forward to seeing you again soon and remember, when your teacher asks how you got to be so smart, tell them it’s because you went to Parks’ Place Learning Center!
Thank you for choosing Parks’ Place!
