Butterfly/Infant:
December was an exciting time for our babies! We had a great time learning about the Christmas season and the many different ways to celebrate the season. The infants enjoyed painting Christmas trees, making our handprints into a wreath and we had loads of fun on the floor playing during tummy time.

Grasshopper/Twos
As our room started changing and gearing up for Christmas we started reading Clifford and the Big Christmas Present, Santa’s Workshop, and Winter Friends. Our most exciting moments included making a Santa with our hand and decorating our Christmas tree. Later in the month we enjoyed an awesome party with our parents and friends. We ended the month by talking about the Chinese New Year.

VPK
The month of December was a very exciting month. Throughout the month of December the VPK classes have continued to learn and recognize shapes, letters and numbers. We talked about Christmas around the world and how different people celebrate and decorate for the holidays. Our December fun continued to get better the closer we got to the end of the month. We ended on a high note when Santa paid us a visit and we got to visit his WORKSHOP! We also took pictures with Santa and had a blast at our Christmas Party! Thank you to all the parents who came out and made the party a success and a lot of fun.

Busy Bees/Ones
The Busy Bees are as busy as can be! December was a most exciting month for us. It was a great time to learn about the Christmas season. It also brought on loads of fun and excitement. We made tree farms, colored snowflakes, reindeer, Santa hats, and a collage of snowmen. One of our favorite books this month was The Gingerbread Man. Out fun continued with Ugly Christmas Sweater Picture Day along with Santa’s Workshop. We can’t wait to see what exciting things are going to happen in January.

Make New Year’s Resolutions with Your Child
For many of us, the New Year means it’s time to take stock of our lives and fix what we don’t like. We not only benefit from New Year’s resolutions; our children can also learn a lot about self-discipline and the value of making goals.
Here are some tips from PBS.org on how to help your kids benefit from making resolutions.
- Make it a family activity.
- Different resolutions for different ages.
- Serve as a role model.
- Rewards are long lasting.
View more information on each of these tips on PBS’ website.
